There is an episode about this festival in our archives as we talk about the audience and all the great films we showcased at this event.

The theme of the November 2018 Female Feedback Film Festival in Los Angeles was “Choices”.

Perhaps the most generic theme we’ve ever had, but each film was about the main character forced to make a major decision after a traumatic event. Pushing yourself when it’s the last thing you ever want to do.

This is always going to be a memorable festival for myself because while the festival was taking place in Los Angeles, 2500 miles away in Toronto my son Daniel Ross Toffolo was born. He wasn’t supposed to come for another two weeks, but he had other things on his mind.

The only reason this can happen is that we have an outstanding team in Los Angeles who runs a great festival for the organization month after month. From top to bottom, this is an amazing group of people assembled to deliver a top notch event on the first Thursday of every single month at the LA LIVE Regal cinemas in downtown LA.

See you at the festivals.

The theme of the June 2018 HORROR/THRILLER FEEDBACK Film Festival in Los Angeles was “Sins”. Every single film was about a world and/or characters dealing with sins and conflicts of the past.

This is the festival that I’ll always remember because I consider it the turning point of the Los Angeles FEEDBACK Film Festival. It wasn’t the easiest event to get through for the crew, but they grinded it out and produced the best night we’ve had so far in Los Angeles. The feedback videos are great (make sure you watch them), put together by our new editor Kimberly Villarruel, who was the MVP of the night.

In Toronto, the great team (lead by Mary Cox & Kierston Drier) had been a part of the festival for over 2 years before they were brought on in a moderator & leadership capacity. So they were able to witness many events, and see how they can achieve success despite the muliple conflicts that can occur when producing an event where the audience’s comments are the only thing that really matter

In Los Angeles, it was a fast process for all of them. Shepsut Wilson, who moderates the festival in Los Angeles, only attended two events before she took the mic to lead the discussion. So she’s literally been doing and learning on the job at the same time. And our Festival Director’s Rachel Elder, and Natasha Levy worked at a few events in a 12 month span before they took the leadership duties. So the first few events were definitely a work in progress and learning curve for everybody.

Then June 2018 appeared and we found out what the Los Angeles team were made of. They demand perfection in a festival with so many moving parts that perfection is impossible to obtain. But attempting to get to that goal is what turns something good into something great.

Before I get too “motivational speaker”, I simply wanted to say that we have arrived in Los Angeles and we are saying put forever! With a team like this, we have nowhere to go but up for a long, long time.

See you at the festivals.

“This was the best one yet!” – Said the two Festival Directors who wrote me (in separate texts) minutes after the 3rd Los Angeles FEEDBACK Film Festival event of 2018 was completed.

It was definitely the best audience so far! Lots of engagement in the near sell out crowd of over 200 attendees.

The theme of the even was TRUTH VS LIES. Every film had situations where the truth was not happening and people venturing out to find it.

This was a night of the best of drama short from around the world in the first half (Japan, India, UK) and a selection of the best Under 5 minute short films from the United States in the 2nd half.

The MVP of this event was actually 2,200 miles away in Toronto while the event was happening: Our editor John Johnson. We was able to put together 11 feedback videos for each film in over 1 hour of conversations that moderator Shepsut Wilson had with the audience.

This was the first time we ever attempted the Under 5 Minute lineup in Los Angeles and it definitely won’t be the last. The crowd seemed to really like this concept.

Three festivals down in Los Angeles for 2018, and nine more to go. And LA has not even seen the best yet! Some amazing films coming this Spring and Summer.

See you at the festivals.

The LOS ANGELES JANUARY 2018 FEEDBACK Film Festival gave our audiences the best of CRIME & ACTION/ADVENTURE short movies from around the world.

The theme of the festival was “BREAKING EXPECTATIONS”.

Every film showcased was about a situation that was about a character(s) leaping out of their expected ideal.

January 2018 was the beginning of everything in Los Angeles for the FEEDBACK Film Festival. The first event of the monthly festival format. We plan on doing a festival every single month in LA from the rest of the existence of humanity!

There is a new management team for the FEEDBACK Festival in Los Angeles. One of our main workers fell sick with a stomach flu on the day, and one of our camera operators car broke down on the way to the cinema. So LA Feedback Coordinator Rachel Elder basically ran the festival all by herself – on her first time out at that. The Regal Cinemas manager said that what she pulled off was truly amazing. She was definitely the MVP of the night and we at WILDsound headquarters are truly grateful.

Shepsut Wilson was the moderator of the evening and did a fantastic job on her first time out. This will be the first of many for the talented performer who also puts in a lot of effort and research to make sure the best moderation for each film gets executed.

So we are on our way in Los Angeles. We showcased 7 shorts from all over the world on our first FEEDBACK Film Festival of 2018.

See you at the festivals.
