Debuting filmmaker, Deniz Campinar, is a westernized Turkish woman who grew up between two different cultures. The unbreakable bond between the Turkish temperament and Belgian soberness is nested deep in her personality.
This “movie junkie” likes to incorporate recurring themes such as cultural identity and diversity in her work, unafraid of tackling taboos or sensitive subjects.
For this short film, she drew her inspiration from questions about good and evil, heaven and hell, the current turbulent political-religious tensions, and her daily Flemish-Turkish experiences.
