Director Biography
Anuj holds a Masters in Film from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Asia. He has written and directed six short films, and has also worked as director for commercials. Anuj’s films have received recognition from the Singapore National Library Board and the British Council Singapore. His short film “Manila Running” won Best Film at the NYU First Run Film Festival, after having premiered at the prestigious Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in 2012. “The Manliest Man” also made its premiere at the 2016 Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. It received a Jury Special Mention at the 2016 Indian Film Festival of Los Angles 2016, and the Carl Lerner Award for Social Significance at the 2016 NYU First Run Film Festival. He is currently based in India, where he continues to juggle time between writing and directing for projects that tell stories, convey a message and challenge conventions at the same time.
