Director Biography
Patricia Chica is a Canadian multi award-winning director-producer who has built a loyal audience and cult following internationally. Dread Central put her on the list of the “Rising Female Filmmakers” to watch. She specializes in high-quality author driven genre films that have great commercial appeal and that uplifts the audiences. One of Patricia’s principles is to always depict strong characters, with mood and tone, and exhibit visual ingenuity while delivering an engaging, thought-provoking and entertaining story. Her previous shorts Day Before Yesterday, Ceramic Tango, A Tricky Treat, and Serpent’s Lullaby have won multiple awards. The latter was part of the “Coup de Coeur” selection of the favorite international shorts at the 67th Cannes Film Festival (Short Film Corner). Patricia Chica presently divides her time between Los Angeles and her hometown Montreal and is putting the final touches on her new coming-of-age drama about sexual fluidity entitled Morning After.
Director Statement
Morning After is not only a film about sexual fluidity and accepting yourself the way you are. It’s also an inspiring tale about human connection, oneness and finding the flow that unites the sensual experience with the truth within us.
