Director Biography – DeDe Drake, Nina Ham
DeDe Drake (Co-Director) – DeDe is a director, writer, and actor based in Los Angeles. She is a winner of Shootout’s 48 Hour Film Competition for Garyland, and Best Comedy at NHCF for Room Service. She was very excited to co-direct and mind-meld with the immensely talented Nina Ham, and is very proud of the work that the cast and crew put into this special film.
Nina Ham (Co-Director & DP) – Nina is a cinematographer and director originally from Vancouver Island by way of the midwest. She has shot for clients such as Barnes & Noble, Adobe, The Hollywood Reporter, and When We All Vote, Michelle Obama’s voting initiative. She is drawn to the collaborative nature of filmmaking, and loves the artistic challenges of visually conveying emotion, story and tone through camerawork. As cinematographer and one of the directors on “if I go,” Nina especially enjoyed the experience of co-directing for the first time with DeDe Drake. The elements of sci-fi and magical realism combined with themes of isolation were what resonated the most with her and drew her to the film.
