Brandon Lazenko became interested in the art of storytelling after joining his high school drama club in Akron, Ohio. While attending Kent State University, Brandon began directing short films and mini-series’. In addition to filmmaking, Brandon is passionate about bringing the arts to at-risk youth. Brandon’s goal is to continue to inspire creativity and ingenuity in others; while creating films that challenge mental health stigmas and encouraging resiliency.
As a mental health professional, I have worked directly with the vulnerable youth within our communities who have fallen victim to human trafficking and sexual abuse. I have payed witness to the crisis management necessary when their PTSD is triggered, flashing back memories of their trauma, accompanied with strong emotional and physical reactions, many times ignoring those who want to help them. This is by no means a true story, but a symbolic representation of a survivor’s internal struggle.
