SYNOPSIS:

Genre: Romance, Animation, Comedy

On the day of a pop quiz, Pen and Pencil meet each other on a classroom desk. Meanwhile, Samantha has been juggling between work and school, she misplaces the cap to her favorite pen.

What is your screenplay about?

The screenplay takes place on the day of a pop-quiz, where Pencil helps Pen search for her missing cap, but Samantha, who has been juggling between school and work doesn’t remember where she left it.

What genres does your screenplay fall under?

Pen & Pencil would be an animation/comedy

Why should this screenplay be made into a movie?

I think Pen & Pencil should be made into a movie because it has art and education together, which makes a fun read. But when you add in its humor, it can be so much more entertaining to watch.

How would you describe this script in two words?

I’d describe this screenplay as “Artful Humor”.

What movie have you seen the most times in your life?

The Mask is a movie I’d say I watched more than any other movie.

How long have you been working on this screenplay?

I’ve been working on this screenplay for about a year.

How many stories have you written?

I’ve written two stories.

What is your favorite song? (Or, what song have you listened to the most times in your life?)

I listen to the song “Changes” by Tupac Shakur a lot.

What obstacles did you face to finish this screenplay?

I had to drop out of school and relocate out of state to finish the screenplay.

Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?

Besides writing I’m passionate about directing and producing in the film world, but mainly about social issues and gender and racial equality in our society.

What influenced you to enter the festival? What were your feelings on the initial feedback you received?

I was taking a screenwriting class in San Diego and that influenced me to writing this screenplay and entering it in festivals afterwards.
