|SAY YOU’RE SORRY or The Revenge Of The Sisterhood
Written by John Gigrich
A script about revenge.
Get to know the winning writer:
What is your screenplay about?
What genres does your screenplay under?
Why should this screenplay be made into a movie?
It would give satisfaction to every woman who’s ever been betrayed by a man.
How would you describe this script in two words?
What movie have you seen the most times in your life?
The Titanic. Every time it comes on TV, I just cannot change the channel.
How long have you been working on this screenplay?
How many stories have you written?
A three-act theater play, three screenplays, two 10 minute plays.
What motivated you to write this screenplay?
An article I read on a women’s magazine at the hair salon while having my hair done.
In the article, a woman wrote about her relationship with a narcissistic man, her despair over their breakup, you know, a typical story of love and loss. But the thing that struck me was her friend’s comment: ‘he should be punished.’ He wasn’t. The woman in the article chose to let it go, never confront him and just suffer. I decided to give her a little bit of satisfaction. Who wants a narcissist as a partner, anyway?
What obstacles did you face to finish this screenplay?
I made it into a 10 minute story and then condensed it. It was an interesting exercise in writing.
Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?
Politics. And fairness.
Any advice or tips you’d like to pass on to other writers?
Write everything you think you want to write. Most is junk. Some is ok.
But a few bits are brilliant. So, write them.
