FREEDOM
Written by Scot Walker
SYNOPSIS:
Genre: Satire
What is the meaning of the 2nd Amendment? How much “freedom” doe sit imply? Is there no limit to the “freedom” to own arms, even when those arms include missile launchers, automatic weapons, poison gas and atomic weapons? But more importantly, why must the Supreme Court decide such issues? Is there no common sense in the number, amount and type of arms Americans should be allowed to buy?

What is your screenplay about?
What is the meaning of the 2nd Amendment? How much “freedom” doe sit imply? Is there no limit to the “freedom” to own arms, even when those arms include missile launchers, automatic weapons, poison gas and atomic weapons? But more importantly, why must the Supreme Court decide such issues? Is there no common sense in the number, amount and type of arms Americans should be allowed to buy?
What genres does your screenplay fall under?
Satire.
Why should this screenplay be made into a movie?
A film can be distributed to far many more viewers. This is a message that I feel very compassionate about. It’s time Americans begin to have a real dialogue about the effects of owning weapons and even if we need to own them.
How would you describe this script in two words?
Ironic satire.
What movie have you seen the most times in your life?
The Inn of the Sixth Happiness (with my all time favorite actor: Ingrid Bergman).
How long have you been working on this screenplay?
It’s a very short play so the actual composition took an hour or so, however, it is a concept (and controlling arms) that has been brewing inside my soul for many decades.
How many stories have you written?
Including plays and novels and shorts stories over the course of the past 55 years, probably hundreds. You can google me Scot Walker author (one “t” in Scot; I was too poor to afford the second “t”.) or checking out my novels, poetry and short stories at Smashword or write to me at century21theatre@yahoo.com for more information.
What motivated you to write this screenplay?
The arrogance of the NRA.
What obstacles did you face to finish this screenplay?
Saving the planet, international travel, tutoring,
Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?
Take nothing personally. And never stop writing.
